FAQ

This FAQ answers common questions about Dudspuds.

What is Dudspuds?

Dudspuds is an online marketplace where you can buy premium fantasy sports content. Normally, this content requires an annual subscription or it’s found in a print publication, but the publishers are selling it here on a per-article basis. Think of this as iTunes for fantasy sports content. Buy just what you need, from a multitude of publishers.

Why the name “Dudspuds”?

It’s easy to remember, easy to spell and doesn’t necessarily mean much to anyone. Plus, the domain was available. It was also the name of our fantasy sports league the last couple of years.

Is Dudspuds free?

It’s free to create an account, search for articles and build a watch list of players and teams. You can preview as many articles as you’d like. Some publishers may put free articles on the site. If you want to read a full-length article that has a price tag – you’ll need to deposit money into your account.

What is a watch list?

When you build a watch list, you choose specific players, teams and publishers to monitor for new articles. The Dudspuds home page will look at your watch list first, and show you all the new articles that match. You can also use the corresponding RSS feed to monitor for new articles that become available from your favorite RSS reader (i.e. My Yahoo, Google Reader)

What is premium content?

Any content that requires payment to access. Payments may be subscriptions or newsstand prices.

Can I get these articles on another website or in a magazine?

Yes, if you want to subscribe to the publisher’s site or buy the book or magazine (if it’s still available). We encourage readers to subscribe to our publishers, if you like the content they produce.

Who writes the articles?

Professional and freelance publishers write the articles.

Why would I pay when I can find stuff for free?

There are several reasons paying makes sense. First, you’ll save time. You won’t have to dig through five or six sites to get more opinions on specific players or teams. Second, you’ll compensate the publisher – so they can continue writing great content for you to read later on. Third, we’re not talking about a lot of money. Most articles are $0.05, $0.10 or $0.25. This site was created to offer many content choices without breaking the bank. Where else are you going to spend a nickel and get something of value?

How is the price set on articles?

Publishers set the prices. We provide them with suggestions on how to keep prices of the articles cheap.

Can I repost articles on my website or blog?

No. When you pay for the articles, you’re simply buying the right to read the article. You can print it if you’d like. You cannot republish or distribute the article in any manner.

The article I bought is clearly fraudulent or copied – do I get my money back?

Please report any fraudulent articles immediately. Just paste the link in an e-mail to info@dudspuds.com. If we determine the article to be fraudulent, we will reimburse you the price of the article.
